On June 1, 2024, Milwaukee experienced a monumental occasion: A Night of Fashion and Recognition, paying tribute to Set Shakur, at the breathtaking Cooperage. As guests convened for an evening infused with style, music, philanthropy, and mental health advocacy—all close to Set’s heart—the anticipation was palpable. Set’s illustrious career in the fashion industry, characterized by her iconic Atlanta boutique in the early 2000s and celebrated capsule collections, firmly establishes her as a leading figure in the industry. Yet, beyond the glitz, this event carried profound significance, with its proceeds benefiting the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, underscoring a night that seamlessly blended passion with purpose.

The Cooperage Milwaukee, renowned for its historic charm and modern appeal, provided the perfect backdrop for this grand occasion. Its rustic yet elegant ambiance set the stage for a night that seamlessly blended style, culture, and community spirit.

Hosted by Upscale’s senior fashion editor, Dr. Courtney A. Hammonds, the event exuded magnificence, spotlighting the exceptional creations of a myriad of talented designers and models. Each designer, carefully selected by Set Shakur due to her personal affiliation with them as either a patron or mentor, contributed to making the night truly unforgettable. Among the featured designers were Yasemn Hooded, Classic Tees, Basia Designs, and Love My Grind, each showcasing their unique vision and craftsmanship on the runway.
