In 1995, Helen Baylor brought crowds to their feet while simultaneously sending them to their knees with her “praying grandmother” testimony. On Saturday, April 28, I’ll be in attendance at the Reginald A. Batiste written “Mama’s Prayer”, hoping to do the same after experiencing the powerful yet humorous content that’s sure to make theatre enthusiasts laugh, cry and most of all think about personal relationships with Jesus Christ. Staring the multi-faceted talent Darrin Henson, with Claudia Jordan, Willie Taylor, Darlene McCoy and Wess Morgan, the show tells the story of a strong Christian woman who holds her family together through her Christian values despite the trials and tribulations within her family.
Batiste states, “The play will suck you in and have you cheering for this family and their moralistic values. With brand new original music, this presentation is nothing like those gospel plays you have seen before, and it’s sure to be one for the ages.” “Mama’s Prayer” makes it’s Atlanta debut at Divine Faith Ministries International at 7:30PM.
