The 5th Annual Urban One Honors celebrated 50 years of Hip Hop during an exclusive taping for TV One and Cleo TV in Atlanta, GA on December 2, 2022.

There were a host of celebrities that graced the red carpet for a star studded show set to air on TV One/Cleo TV  on the MLK Holiday January 16th, 2023. LL Cool J born James Todd Smith and his beautiful wife, Simon, of 23 years graced the carpet and the media went into a frenzy.

The humble 2x Grammy winning rap artist/actor didn’t hold back from giving a shameless plug about his first time ever ‘Rock the Bells’ All Hiphop cruise set to take place in November 2023. Other music artists and notable talent that graced the carpet was Pharrell, Pusha T, the host of the evening  R&B singer Tank and his beautiful wife, honorees Tamala and David Mann, Letoya Luckett, Monie Love, Dougie Fresh, DJ Spinderella, Lamman Rucker, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Dr. Contessa & Dr. Scott Metcalfe, Marvin Sapp, Angie Stone and a host of other celebrity guests.

Everyone was looking forward to the tribute to 50 years of hip hop collaboration performance by legendary veteran hip hop artists. You will definitely have to tune in January 16th to TV One or Cleo TV in order to see all the amazing performances.

Congratulations to one of Hip Hop’s finest veterans James Todd Smith ‘LL Cool J’ for receiving the Entertainment Icon Honor award and the entire honoree class “Celebrating Icons of the Culture.” Bobby Brown was honored with the Phoenix Honoree Award.
