12th Annual Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival

Written by  Administrator

The 12th Annual Star-Studded Black Heritage Festival, Inc is back and filled with Florida's most cultural and historical venues. This 10-day festival resides in the Tampa Bay community and serves as the largest cultural arts event in this region, January 12-21, 2012. The theme for this year's event will be "Keeping the Dream Alive, Something for Everyone" as civil rights activist Dr. Benjamin Chavis kicks off the festival with the premiere of the biopic "Blood Done Signed My Name" and a Q&A to follow. Legendary featured groups such as the R&B group Rose Royce, Jazz Saxophonist Paul Taylor and Hip Hop violinists Black Violin will entertain crowds as this festival draws in thousands of patrons. The Black Heritage Festival coincides with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday which will help promote this year's Children's Village initiative and help celebrate Tampa's history, cultural beauty and promote proactive health and wellness in the African American community.
