Upscale Magazine shares love for our city with Butter ATL, Finish First, Atlanta Influences Everything and Trap Music Museum—who joined to organize this year’s 404 Day! Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens sports the new official Nike Dunk Low “ATL” at 404 Day Community Celebration! This year’s 404 Day! celebrations in Atlanta, Georgia reverberated an immense sense of pride for the deep history of the 404-area code.

Atlanta’s political leaders, biggest celebrities, and city influencers turnt up for all things ATL! This year’s 404 Day event line-up included an exclusive Nike (Airforce ATL) sneaker reveal, Celebrity v/s Influencers softball game, community food giveaway and multiple parties. The organizers also launched its inaugural 404 Day Scholarship Fund, which over $80,000 in partnership with the City of Atlanta, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Dream, The Athletes Foot, New Belgium, Moose Knuckles and Discover Atlanta.  The 404 Day! Scholarship Fund contributions go to support seniors from the AUCC (Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College).

404 Day! is celebrated on April 4th. The 404 Day! community organizers pay special homage to the significance that April 4th was the day Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination. As well as the origin of area codes coming from Atlanta based Southern Bell, currently AT&T. 404 Day was originally an AT&T marketing campaign, which has been transformed into a day of community service, citywide celebrations, and tremendous pride for the city.

404 Day! co-organizer, Bem Joiner, founder of Atlanta Influences Everything, takes the organization name to heart as many of the 404 Day! participants referencing Atlanta’s influence in areas like African American advancement, arts & entertainment, and culture. Bem has an infectious dream for the future of 404 Day! This includes schools and businesses participating in this important day of recognition with community service, economic opportunities and honoring the past.
