MYCHEL “SNOOP” DILLARD
Founder, Party Bus Kings
Mychel Dillard owes her success to her alter ego. The Detroit-bred, Atlanta-based serial entrepreneur says she has a “wild side that fuels her career.”
The Vanderbilt University graduate learned how to grind while party promoting, deejaying and even spitting lyrics. When she moved to the South, the owner of Party Bus Kings bought her first party bus with profits from her real estate investment. She’s expanded her Dillard Hospitality Group empire to include several popular Atlanta hangouts, Crave at Little 5 Points, Members Only Lounge and Escobar Restaurant and Tapas, which she co-owns with rapper 2 Chainz.
One of the most fulfilling things about being an entrepreneur? Providing jobs and opportunities for other up and comers.
“Seeing ways that I open so many doors for young people in my culture is something that I’ve always kept in mind,” Dillard says.
It’s particularly important that she continue to pave the way for other black women who share her drive.
“There are not many black women in my field,” she says. —Y.C.
